If you've ever thought about purchasing real estate now is the time. In my 20 years in the real estate business, I have yet to experience a combination of affordable housing, low interest rates and tax credits for new and existing home buyers. ($6500-$8000 in tax credits). We have seller's that are willing to cooperate with downpayment and closing costs. We even have seller's that will finance houses for the buyer's. All you have to do is ask, and we'll let you know where we can help. If you are hoping to capitalize on the tax credits and the low interest rates you had better get serious now! Here's why...the $8000 and the $6500 are only good through April. That means you have had to indentify and write an offer on a particular home by that time in order to cash in. Furthermore, if you wait until the end....plan on hitting the roadblock of everyone in the country doing it at the same time. The U.S. Government has announced it's stopping the purchase of mortgage backed securities. Which means that the mortgage interest rates, which have been held artifically low, will start to increase. So these great interest rates around 5%, will more likely get closer to 6%. That means higher payments for the home buyer. Something to consider. Plan accordingly and you'll find plenty of nice homes that will meet your needs and criteria. It's understood that a home buying credit alone should not be the only factor in you picking the right home for you.
